TRIFOLD TOWER™

Parafold's Trifold Tower™ is a paradigm shift in small wind turbine towers, incorporating both Parahinge™ and Parabuilt™ foundation technology. The unique three legged tapered hybrid lattice tower has been designed for ease of installation by minimizing loads required to raise the tower. The damping system absorbs dynamic wind loads that can damage the foundation and also attenuates frequencies produced by the rotor that can damage the tower and turbine. 

The light weight of the upper half of the tower and the Parahinge™ design provides for fast and easy tower installation. For example, a 10kW wind turbine on an 80’ tower requires only 7000 lbs. of force to raise the turbine to the tower top from the ground. The turbine can be raised or lowered to the ground quickly and easily, and the length of time depends on the tower height and choice of winch. This makes servicing or repairing turbine components easy. In the event of a storm, the turbine can be lowered and in this configuration the tower will withstand winds to 160 mph.

In many cases, a wind turbine using a Trifold tower can be installed and operational in one or two days, compared to 30 or more days for towers with foundations requiring concrete.

Parafold™ Towers offers the Trifold Tower™, an innovative folding three-legged tower that is self supporting. Parafold™ Towers manufactures its towers with galvanized steel and can additionally offer a 20-year epoxy paint in the color of your choice.
