About Us

Parafold Towers™ is a subsidiary of Catadon Systems, Inc., a product development company that focuses on renewable energy and environmentally friendly technologies. Catadon was founded on the principles of social responsibility and is committed to improving technology through creative thinking and innovation. This philosophy is behind founder Don Miller's many inventions and the previous company he founded, Fallbrook Technologies, Inc., which developed the NuVinci CVP. The NuVinci CVP is a continuously variable transmission that has uses in many renewable energy applications, including wind turbine drivetrains. The NuVinci CVP was awarded a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and has received numerous other awards, including R&D Magazine's Top 100 inventions of the year, a Popular Science invention of the year, and Eurobike's invention of the year.
While studying the benefits of the NuVinci CVP for the wind industry, Don realized that tower design was archaic and could be improved. He researched wind turbine towers for three years and concluded that the cost of towers could be lowered, installation time could be greatly reduced, and service and repairs made easier. This led to the development of Parafold Towers and its technologies. Parafold Towers is funded by investors committed to renewable energy.
